Idyllic Urban Walk
This walk offers some of the most spectacular harbour views in Mosman. The route takes you along leafy streets past grand homes with well cared for gardens and down hidden pathways to charming bays. While the bush tracks along the harbour are well known and frequented by many, the street walks around Mosman offer a quieter perspective of this special suburb.
Circular Walking Route 1.0 – 1.5 hours
South Mosman to Sirius Cove would have to be one of my favourite walks. The views of Mosman Bay, Sirius Cove and the city are brilliant, especially on a blue sky day.
While I don’t enjoy stairs, I do consider this walk a great workout 🙂 Being a circular route you can’t avoid the stairs and hills, no matter which direction you take but the views and exercise make it all worthwhile!
I love the view over Mosman Bay from the stairs leading from Musgrave St to Herron Walk (opposite South Mosman ferry wharf). Be sure to turn around to admire the view. Also, when walking along Musgrave St stay on the high side of the street for best views of Mosman Bay and the CBD.
Sirius Cove is a quiet hideaway in Mosman surrounded by lush coastal vegetation, a small well protected beach and a number of quaint boatsheds. Adjacent to the Sirius Cove beach is a park area that attracts plenty of locals… and their dogs too! It’s one of those parks where dogs can roam free, and they do.
Getting there: Walk, car or bus/ferry to South Mosman Wharf. There are also bus stops along Musgrave and Raglan Streets.
